Eugene R. Pernicka, 81, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center. Per his wishes, he has been cremated. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Eugene was born September 24, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Christy Pernicka. He married Barbara White on June 19, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Eugene was employed for many years as a plumber and pipefitter with Bowker at ADM. He was a member of Local 125 Union. Eugene enjoyed mowing, yardwork, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids.

Eugene is survived by his loving daughter, Amy (Kyle Kubite) Pernicka; his two granddaughters, Keely (Zach Christensen) Pernicka and Alivia Pernicka; two grandpups, Mabel and Ziggy; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mike Pernicka, and his siblings Frank, Freddie, Mike, Louis, Agnus, and Bernice.
