Esther I. Strieter

Esther I. (Leimer) Strieter, age 94 of Dowagiac, MI, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at her son’s home in Yorkville, IL.

She was born on November 27, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska, to George & Katherine (Snyder) Leimer.  Esther was the youngest of 5 children. Her siblings preceded her in death & all are joyously reunited in Heaven.

Esther was married to Bob Strieter in 1947 & they celebrated 68 years of marriage until his passing on June 28, 2015.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister & aunt who will be deeply missed by her family & friends.

Esther is survived by her children, Pamela (Tony) Rinella of Nampa, ID; Robert (Diane) Strieter of Yorkville, IL; Philip (Sandy) Strieter of Knoxville, TN; her 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.

Esther’s life was dedicated to ministering to women thru counseling, Bible Study, volunteering at crisis pregnancy centers & numerous church activities at Sister Lakes Community Church in Dowagiac, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Sister Lakes Community Church, Dowagiac, MI in the fall – date & time TBA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Esther’s name to Birthright, 2700 Niles Ave, St Joseph, MI  49085.
