Ernest A. Morgan
Ernest A. Morgan, 83, of Chatham, formerly of Pawnee, died at 5:20 am, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at The Villas of Hollybrook in Chatham. He was born February 5, 1939 in Auburn, to Russell L. and Gladys Lois (Pittman) Morgan. He married Patricia Hooper on July 27, 1963 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sheila (Brad) Leggett of Springfield and Diane (Richard) Meadows of Chatham; two granddaughters, Nicole (Corey) Sanders and Sydney (companion: Devan Schafer) Meadows; one sister Lucille Krupp of Chatham; two sisters-in-law, Lynda Hooper and Peggy Vidacovich and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charlie, Leslie and Henry Morgan and two sisters, Ruby Curtis and Ina Murphy.
Ernest was a US Army veteran. He worked at Weaver Manufacturing Company and retired from Commonwealth Edison.
He enjoyed traveling to Branson and spending time with family, especially his two granddaughters.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 8:45 am, Friday, September 30, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Ben Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
