Erma M. Walton

Erma M. Walton, 91, of New Philadelphia, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Park Village Health Care at Dover following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Millard and Ilda (Watkins) Hilliard, Erma was born October 19, 1929 at Uhrichsville, Ohio.
Erma graduated from Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in 1947. Then on December 25, 1948, she married Frederick M. Walton and they raised three children, Debbie, Fred and Mike. The couple shared 55 years of marriage prior to Fred’s passing on June 25, 2004.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia. Erma enjoyed cooking and baking which she especially enjoyed sharing with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Larry) Humbert of New Philadelphia, Fred (Laurie) Walton of Wadsworth and Mike (Debra) Walton of Tallmadge; her grandchildren, Tara Humbert of Columbus, Dr. Timberly (Gladys) Humbert of Boston, Massachusetts, Brent Walton and Natalie Walton both of Wadsworth and Hayley (Tom) Wilkin of Westerville; her great-granddaughter, Mina Humbert-Torres and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph “Pete” and Betty Hilliard and many other dear family members.
In keeping with Erma’s wishes, private graveside services will be held in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery at Tuscarawas.
