Emma Deana Achas

Emma Deana Achas, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Auburn Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. She was born on June 17, 1947, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Dean Roscoe and Mary Catherine (Adams) Boling and they preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death is one daughter, Tressa Prior.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Heather Prior and Adam Prior, both of Sherman and her three loved cats, Ryan, Topaz and Princess Amelia.

Deana was a resident of Springfield most of her life. She belonged to Knox Knolls Free Methodist Church. She donated much of her time at the Animal Protective League and the Sojourn House. She also spent many hours volunteering at the American Red Cross where she was named volunteer of the year. She loved crocheting, embroidery and sudoku puzzles.

Deana retired from the State of Illinois in the Department of Revenue and DCFS after 30 years of service.

Memorials may be made to the Soujurn House, Animal Protective League or Forever Home Feline Ranch for cat rescue.
