Elsie M. Armstrong, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Crestview Specialty Care in West Branch, Iowa. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with burial to follow at Oak Shade Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the funeral home.

Elsie was born on May 4, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Marvin E Wilson and Lois M Andrews. She was married to Robert on March 20, 1982, in Cedar Rapids.

She worked at Living Center West and West Ridge Care Center for several years as a Dietary Supervisor. Elsie then worked at Meth-Wick Arbor Place as a CNA/Universal Worker until she retired.

Elsie enjoyed family gatherings, crocheting baby blankets for all her new grandbabies, and baking Christmas cookies and candies for all the families to enjoy. She was a huge Elvis fan and loved her family more than anything.

She is survived by her children, Richard Armstrong of Cedar Rapids, Jody Thompson of Cedar Rapids, Jeff (Brooke) Armstrong of Cedar Rapids, Joe (Lynn) Armstrong of Vinton, David Armstrong of Texas, Michael (Jamie) Armstrong of Newhall; two sisters, Lois Ann Algueseva of Arizona, and Judy Kay Capper of Cedar Rapids. She has a total of 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe; twin brothers, Donny and Bobby; sister, Dianna; son-in-law, Greg; and four grandchildren, Johnathan, Joseph, Savannah, and Wade.

Elsie’s family would like to thank all the staff at Crestview Specialty Care in West Branch and Care Initiatives Hospice staff for their care and love for our mom during her stay there.
