Eloise Farris Devers Pauli
- October 28, 2021
Our fun loving, beautiful mother, Eloise Farris Devers Pauli was born December 8, 1921 in Pleasant Hill, LA. Her father was Wesley Marvin Farris, her mother Mae Jennings Farris. Her siblings, Lexie Lee Farris Brame, Otis Farris, Ottis Farris, Wesley Farris, and Burnell Farris Hutcherson have all gone before her as well as her son Larry Taylor Devers.
Eloise was a cheerleader at White Oak High School, White Oak, Texas, graduating in 1939. She married Ray Devers, living in Kilgore, Texas until moving to Snyder in the early 1950’s. Later she lived in Arlington, Winnsboro, Corinth, Glen Rose, and Colleyville where she lived with her husband Frank Pauli until his death in 2011.
Her life was filled with things she loved. Dancing was on the list along with playing bridge and golf. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association in Snyder and Twilight Garden Club, winning numerous awards. She loved growing, arranging and receiving flowers.
The best part of Eloise was her unconditional love and generous heart, always willing to open her home or give a donation. Homemade chicken soup was her specialty made for sick friends. She was a member of the hospital Ladies Auxiliaries in Snyder and Snyder and Winnsboro and was always a member of the Presbyterian Church in the places she lived. At the time of her death her membership was in First Presbyterian Church of Granbury.
The last 9 years of her life were lived at Waterview Retirement in Granbury where she died on October 20, 2021 at the age of 99 years, 11 months. We are thankful to all those who lovingly cared for her during her years at The Cove with special thanks to All About Care (Lisa and Carol), and Interim Healthcare Hospice Team.
Left to carry on her stories and the memory of her spirit are her daughters, Deanne Devers Sims (Bill) and Christie Devers Clark (Rick) and “like a daughter” Joy Richardson Free, along with her grandchildren, Sean Devers, Blain Coffelt (Michelle), Shawnea Smith Costilla, Tori Devers Curry (Levi), 9 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Eloise no longer grieves for grandchildren Trey and Kellie Sims because she is with them now.
A graveside service in Snyder will be held at a later date.
