Elmer J. “Jack” Roderick, Jr.

Elmer J. “Jack” Roderick, Jr., 92, passed away on November 23, 2022. He was born July 27, 1930 in Springfield to Elmer John Roderick, Sr. and Eunice Jacob Roderick and they preceded him in death. He married Marian Marler on April 16, 1955, and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Kimberly (James) Forrest of Springfield, two granddaughters, Jana Howard and Kelsey (Derek) Althouse, three great-grandchildren, Madison Howard, Mathew Althouse and Marissa Althouse and several nieces and one nephew.
He was co-owner of Central Illinois Road Equipment Company for several years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He loved being outdoors and working in his yard. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a US Navy veteran during the Korean war, serving from 1948-1952.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kendra Davis and brother, Ronald C. Roderick.
Visitation: 11 am – 12 pm, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12 pm, Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Reverend James Stuenkel officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
