Eleanore Arlene Maas, 95, a resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to her eternal joy on Friday, April 14, 2023. She died from natural causes, under the care of her children at home, with the aid of Hospice of Mercy. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Rev. Ted Groth and Rev. John Dolde will officiate. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation that will take place at the church from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
Eleanore is survived by her sister, Shirley Witte (Mantz); her sister-in-law, Marlene Mantz (Martens); her children, Gary Maas of Lodi, Calif., James Maas of Silver Spring, Md., and Susanne Menken (Roger) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her grandchildren, Alan Maas (Breanne) of Lodi, Calif., Aaron Menken of Fayetteville, Ark., and Nathan Menken (Amanda) of Cary, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Alayna Maas, Owen and Peyton Menken; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Hattie and Bill; her husband, Clark; her brothers, Harold, Raymond, Henry and Gaylord; and her sister, Norma, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of Mercy in her honor.
