Elbert “Bert” Thomas McCall

Elbert “Bert” McCall, 66, of Hendersonville passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Elizabeth House following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of Pauline Dalton McCall and the late Brownie McCall.
Bert was a 1973 graduate of Edneyville High School and worked for Henderson County for 25 years prior to retiring. He was a proud apple farmer his entire life and was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, along with Hendersonville Elks Lodge #1616 and the Sons of the American Legion. Bert loved to work, and play golf, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He considered himself a pitmaster and loved to share a drink with family and friends around the fire pit.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pat McCall; mom, Pauline McCall; daughter, Gail Medlin and her husband, Bob; son, Brian McCall and his wife, Danielle; grandchildren, Matthew Webb, Caleb McCall, Mattie Medlin and Maci Medlin; brother, Sam McCall and his wife, Lisa; sisters, Cathy Mandeville and her husband, Mark, Rebecca Creasman, Teresa Watson and her husband, Greg and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Bryan Melton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in Bert’s memory to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. P.O. Box 29 Edneyville, NC 28727.
