Edna Roberta Foster was born August 18, 1929 in Campo, Colorado to Ernest A. and Ruth C. (Walker) Burd. She passed away in the early hours of Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Mercy Walworth Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Edna met her future husband on the school bus, inviting him to church. They both attended Bible college. She married the love of her life on her birthday August 18, 1949 in Pasco, Washington. They were pastors in Washington, Oregon, Montana, North Dakota until they settled in Wisconsin in 1975.
They were blessed with 8 children, 19 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. As a wife and mother, she ran their home with love and efficiency while supporting her husbands role as a pastor. Edna’s family was important to her as she sought to instill Godly values, love, responsibility, and caring for each other. She loved painting beautiful pictures, now in the possession of family and friends. Other interests included puzzles, reading, and flowers. In her younger days she loved creating special memories, and homemade treats such as ice cream, breads, or sweet rolls for her children. She kept special toys and treats for her grandchildren visits.
Edna is survived by her children Linda (Larry) Knutson, Sandy Foster, Ruth (Mike) Mehring, Beth Foster, Julie (Rob) Reuter, Roberta Rhodes, and Jonathan (Laura) Foster; 19 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 73 years, Robert Miles Foster; a son in infancy, Mark Foster; son-in-law Mike Rhodes; grandson, Romero Gore, granddaughter Elizabeth Reuter; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
