Edith was born on Jan. 1, 1923, the daughter of Ralph and Erma Sleichter. When the boys were in middle school, she returned to work, spending 20 years at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. In retirement, Edith spent many years volunteering at the churches of Marion Food Pantry. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion and United Methodist Women. She and Phil traveled and enjoyed spending time with their family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edith will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Phil; brothers, Vern, Carroll, Daniel and Richard Moorhead; sisters, Norma Fry and Dortha Chapek; and granddaughter, Christine.
