Eddie G. Quillen, 81, of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 in Community Hospice, Truman House at New Philadelphia.
Born in New Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Elton and Josephine (Horn) Quillen and a 1958 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Eddie was the owner and operator of the former Body Shack at Dover and more recently owned and operated Quillen Custom Floats at New Philadelphia. He had formerly attended the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia and also the Northwest Bible Church at Hilliard. A self-proclaimed, “Rollercoaster Fanatic”, Eddie enjoyed visiting any and all amusement parks in his spare time.
Eddie is survived by his brother, Richard Quillen of New Philadelphia; a niece, Candie Gomola of Dover; three great nieces, Tiffani (Tony) Gerber, Trisha (Shane) Page and Tara (Matt) Page and four great-great nephews.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Shirley Gordon also precedes him in death.
A funeral service will be held Monday evening, September 20, 2021 at 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia, with Rev. Jim Borton officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home chapel.
To honor Eddie’s memory, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice, Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
