Dr. Roger K. McInturf
Dr. Roger McInturf, 84, of Ashland, passed away at his home on November 18, 2021 following a long illness. He was born on July 19, 1937 in Morgan County, Ohio, the son of the late Daniel Curt and Mary Helen (Geddes) McInturf. He married Mary Patricia Lantz on September 12, 1958 who survives.
Roger graduated from Athens High School and went on to receive his B.S. degree in animal science and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1963 from The Ohio State University. He established his practice in Ashland in 1964 and in 1974 was involved in the formation of Spring Meadow Veterinary Clinic where he was a partner. He retired in 2006. Roger served on the Board of Directors for First National Bank. He was a member of Grace Church in Ashland, where he previously served as an Usher, Youth Sponsor, Vice Moderator and Business Deacon.
Roger worked for many years as an instructor in the Brookside Junior Golf Program. He supported 4-H programs throughout his life. Roger was an avid golfer and dedicated OSU fan. He valued faith, family and integrity above all else.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Roger is survived by his three children, Todd (KellyRae) McInturf of Attica, Michigan, Terry McInturf of Mansfield and Tammy (Chris) Eicher of Clifton, Tennessee; his five grandchildren, Aaron Drushell of Ashland, Tyler Drushell of Carmichael, California, Hannah Eicher of Pegram, Tennessee, Nathan Eicher of Nashville, Tennessee and Evan McInturf of Richmond Township, Michigan. Roger is also survived by nine siblings, Jack (Shirley) McInturf, Bill McInturf, Dolores (Rex) Klingler, Bob (Sue) McInturf, Marj (Dave) Helm, Don (Lynda) McInturf, Dan (Patty) McInturf, Linda (Doug) Williams and Patrick (Janet) McInturf; and 38 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary McInturf and two sisters, Phyllis Jean Brown and Karen Biggers.
Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021 at Grace Church, 1144 West Main Street, Ashland. A Celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Grace Church conducted by Pastor Dan Allan.
