Doug “Dougie” Smith, Jr.

Doug “Dougie” Smith, Jr., age 50, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his residence.  Born on October 09, 1970 in Tacoma, Washington at a military hospital, Doug was raised in Michigan.

Known as a “people person” who loved life, Doug moved from Michigan to Hendersonville, North Carolina over 7 years ago and enjoyed meeting new people.  He loved working with his hands and repairing different things.

He is survived by his father, Douglas Smith and his wife, Joyce of Holt, Michigan; his mother, Christine Hager and her husband, Greg of Onondaga, Michigan; and two children that he absolutely loved, Kaitlyn Michaela and Aidin Douglas.  Doug is also survived by three brothers, Bradley, Nick and Andy; two stepbrothers, Sam and Chuck; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and many friends he met along his journey.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Michigan.
