Dorothy Torres

Dorothy Torres (nee Pouba), age 89, passed away on June 2nd. Devoted wife of the late Donald and dear mother to Lorene (Tom) Seeger, (the late) Donald Torres, Jr. and Steven (Christine) Torres. Grandmother to Jonathan, Kimberly, Jayde and Mia. Great-grandmother to Madison, Anilee and Benjamin.
Dorothy was deeply devoted to her family, friends and faith. She was a resident of the Chicago – Andersonville neighborhood for 60 years, a member of many neighborhood clubs, and enjoyed traveling locally and abroad with her friends. She was an avid gardener, and her backyard was her sanctuary. She made everyone feel special and loved. And in kind, she was loved by all.
Visitation Monday, June 6th at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home from 3-8 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 7th at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, Chicago, IL. A private interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity are appreciated or you may wish to dedicate a plant in your garden to honor her memory.
