Dorothy L. Mann, 93 of Springfield, died at 2:59 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born June 14, 1929, in Enterprise, IL, to Walter L. and Clara Rhein Miller. She married Donald E. Mann on February 3, 1951 and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2004.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Law of Springfield; two grandchildren, Jason (Leah) Helopoulos of Holt, MI and Carrie (Tim) Elliott of Springfield; four great grandchildren, Gracen and Ethan Helopoulos and Jacob and Tyler Elliott and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Robert and Albert Miller; five sisters, Eula Rovin, Morene Wickham, Nadine Miller, Wilma Miller and Thelma Matthews.
Dorothy was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church. She was involved with the Quilters and Crafters group.
She worked for Franklin Life Insurance Company; Laketown Elementary School in District 186 in the cafeteria; and retired, after nineteen years of service, from Jet Permit Services.
She volunteered for many organizations, including baking cookies for the Ronald McDonald House and several other missions and veteran’s organizations. She made 150 dresses for Little Dresses for Africa.
Visitation: 4 – 6 pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Friday, March 17, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Jason Helopoulos officiating. Burial will follow at Auburn Cemetery.
