Dorothy Ann Riggs Harper, 81, loving Wife, Mother, Nana, Mother in Law, retired Legal Secretary and Realtor, passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born Aug. 25, 1940, in Mineral Wells, TX to the late Revis H. and Audrey Carson Riggs. The family moved to Weatherford in 1950. On June 26, 1958 she married her High School Sweetheart, Leland Harper and they were married 53 years until his passing in 2012. Dorothy was a 1958 graduate of Weatherford High School and was the Classes 25th year Coming Home Queen in 1984. Dorothy enjoyed dancing, camping, boating, working in the yard, life at the lake & spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Revis N. Riggs and Mike Riggs; sisters Melba Jean Howard, Audean Paul and Callie Jo Hines, grandchildren Brea Anne and Zakary Riedel. She is survived by daughter Lea Anne Riedel and husband, Steve; son, Lynn Ray Harper and wife, Tabatha; sister, Mary Lou “MuMu” Ray; grandchildren, Landon Harper, Brittany Couch and Austen Riedel; great-granddaughter Oakleigh Couch; sister in law Melba Riggs; brother in law Bob Glenn and wife, Carolyn along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She chose to be Cremated and a Graveside Burial will be held at a later date in the East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford… In lieu of flowers, the Harper/Riedel family suggests Planting a Tree Gift at alivingtribute.org.; or donations to St. Jude; American Lung Association; American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
