Doreen Jantz-Makofski
Doreen Jantz-Makofski, age 59, of Yorkville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her home.
Doreen was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. She is survived by her husband, Michael Makofski (married December 10, 2002); son Dax; parents Robert and Dawn Jantz; siblings Ellyce (George) Baynes, Christine (Steven) Klekamp, and Robert (Beth) Jantz, Jr.
Doreen’s career in nursing began as a recovery room nurse and after a surgery her bright face was always there to greet someone. She was a life-long learner and earned a B.S. in Public Health from N.I.U., an R.N. from Harper College, a Master’s in Public Admin. from Roosevelt University, and a Master’s in Nursing from Aurora University. She was now the Director of Surgical Services at Northwestern Medicine in Huntley, IL.
Dor’s positive spirit and fun-loving attitude will be forever missed. Mike, her husband of almost 20 years, still feels as though he were on his honeymoon. She would make all feel welcome and always took the time to buy the perfect gift.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1671 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL 60560. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 10:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
