Donnie Ray Waibel
Donnie Ray Waibel, 92, of Sherman died at 12:56 am, Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his home. He was born May 14, 1930 in Shelbina, MO, the son of Hurley Ray and Edna B. (Studer) Waibel. He married Joyce Schwarzweller November 22, 1951 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Denise A. (Dr. Robert) Rycek of Kearney, NE and Melinda K. (Chris) Miller of Crete; two sons, Bertin C. (Cindy) Waibel of Greenview and Brian K. (Banjo) Waibel of Camden; daughter-in-law, Monica Waibel of Jacksonville Beach, FL; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon (Ron) Burt of Forest Hill, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Ray Waibel; grandson, Cody Waibel and brother and sister-in-law, Dwane and Shirley Waibel.
Donnie was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He retired from IBM after several years of service.
He was a gentleman farmer, loving husband and father and enjoyed restoring old tractors.
Graveside Service: 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
