Donald Wolfe Saunders

Donald Wolfe Saunders, 81, went home to our Lord and Savior on April 27, 2022, after a brief illness.  A proud Air Force veteran, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service and enjoyed fellowship at Mud Creek Baptist Church.  He loved camping at the beach and watching Tarheel basketball, along with spending time with his family and friends.  The youngest of nine children, he was preceded in death by brothers Ward Saunders, Beverly (Babe) Saunders; sisters Lewan Emerson, Peggy Elmer, L’Neve Lyda, Patricia McCrain, and Betty Stepp.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Taylor Saunders, daughter Tonya Tebben (Boyd), son Todd Saunders, sister Beatrice Herman and brother-in-law Robert McCrain.
