In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Safe Haven of Iowa County Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice in Don’s memory.
Born on May 7, 1938, Don lived a life marked by dedication, service, and craftsmanship. He served his country proudly and honorably in the military for 22 years, embodying the values of loyalty, duty, and respect that he held dear throughout his life.
After retiring from the military as a Chief Warrant Officer 2, Don embarked on a 40-year career in electronics and machine tool repair. His expertise, attention to detail, and passion for problem-solving made him a trusted and respected figure in his field. Colleagues and clients alike admired his unwavering commitment to his work and his ability to breathe new life into seemingly irreparable devices.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Don was a devoted family man. He shared a loving marriage of 62 years with his wife, Ronda, who stood by his side through all of life’s adventures. Together, they raised four children, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He took immense pride in their achievements and found great joy in being a part of their lives.
Don enjoyed bowling, restoring Nash Metropolitans, and was also an avid woodworker. He spent countless hours in his workshop, creating beautiful and intricate pieces that are now cherished heirlooms within his family. His talent for woodworking was matched only by his generosity in sharing his skills and knowledge with others.
Don is survived by his wife, Ronda; his four children, Deborah Sigmund (Jeff), Sandra Rodak (Robert), Karen Moffatt, and Daniel Moffatt (Tanya); his four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and craftsmanship that will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.
Donald J. Moffatt will be deeply loved and will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.
We would like to thank Valley View Memory Care and The Medical Team (Hospice) for the wonderful care he received in his time of need.
