Donald Irvin DeCamp, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at the Northbrook Manor Care Center.

Don is survived by three sons, Frank (Candace) DeCamp, Ryan (Lori) DeCamp, both of Cedar Rapids, Scott (Mary) DeCamp of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Martin, Austin (Kelly), Andrew, Skylar (T.J.); five greatgrandchildren, Gage, Zane, Jase, Brady, Maeve; very special friend, Mary.

Donald Irvin, was born June 28, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Eldon and Rosemond Jones DeCamp. Don grew up in Mount Vernon and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1948. While in high school, Don was a great football player, having broken the punting record. After high school, Don was drafted into U.S. Air Force and served his tour in the post-war theater in Germany. Donald was united in marriage to Lore Wagner in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1954. The couple returned to the United States and made their home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They were blessed with three sons. Don worked as an independent salesman until his retirement. Golfing was a passion with Don. He played as much as he was able, and gave many lessons over the years. Don loved to sing “karaoke.” He sang many nights at locations around Cedar Rapids.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Lore.

Memorials may be sent to UnityPoint Hospice in Don’s name.
