Donald Eugene Gott, 88, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away in Mesa, Ariz., on July 14, 2022. He was a graduate of Franklin High School. Don was employed for 30-plus years by Iowa Electric Light and Power Company and retired at the age of 52. He began farming in the early 1970s and continued farming full time until 2008. While on the farm, Don grew corn, beans and alfalfa, and raised cattle and hogs. He also enjoyed training horses. Don enjoyed fishing and woodworking as his hobbies. While employed, he joined a financial investment group where he learned and developed a passion for the stock market.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Claribel. He is survived by: his wife, Madelin, Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Dolores Gott, Nixa, Mo., and Diane (Bob) Sederwall, Nixa, Mo.; son, Terry (Jo), Mesa, Ariz.; daughter, Gwen (Scott) Thoreson, Carrollton, Mo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in Mesa, Ariz., on Sept. 16, 2022, at the Tempe Mortuary, and a second memorial service will be held later in the fall in Missouri. If desired, donations may be made to Faith Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
