Donald Eugene Bennett, age 74, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024. He was born on January 7, 1950. Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who touched many lives with his warmth, kindness, and dedication to his family and community.
Donald spent much of his life as a baker and later as the Elementary Cafeteria Manager, where he was known for his work ethic and the care he showed to all the children and staff he served. He brought the same level of commitment and love to every role in his life, always ensuring those around him were well cared for.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Paula, his three children: Angie (Blake), Tony (Stacie), and Dustin (Nichole), and his siblings: Steve, Randy, Lisa, and Cathy. He was also a proud and loving grandfather and great-grandfather, who cherished every moment spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, MaryLou, and father, Warren, whom he spoke of fondly and held close in his heart.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the many lives he touched. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for Donald and his family.
Donald will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love for his family, and his unwavering kindness to everyone he met. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
