Dick B. Kappmeyer, 82, of Center Point, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker, Iowa. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Walker. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point is assisting the family.
Dick was born June 8, 1940, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Frank and Jewell (Johnson) Kappmeyer. He graduated from Oelwein High School, Class of 1958. Dick was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Miculinich on June 13, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein, Iowa. He worked for Allen Supplies, FMC Link-Belt Speeder, Sears and the Cedar Rapids Community School District,` before his retirement at age 78. Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing in Minnesota, woodworking and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Beverly Kappmeyer; children, Geary, Paul (Debra), Tim (Sue) and Michelle Kappmeyer; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Theresa Kappmeyer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jewell Kappmeyer; siblings, Hazel Hooker, Leona Kappmeyer, Frank, Grant and Dale Kappmeyer, and Art and Jack Crawford; son-in-law, Leo Haman; and his hunting dog, Runt.
