Derrick Hayes “Bones” was born February 1, 1953 to parents Garnett Hayes (mother), Phillip Taylor father.
Derrick attended Cleveland public schools and he accepted Christ at a very early age. He went to truck driving school and was in the trucking business for over 40 years, driving for various companies until his health began to fail. He worked for Alonso Wright towing company, Dailey Juice Company, and J. B. Hunt. He also drove one of the buses carrying some of the 1996 Olympic team to Atlanta. Derrick drove all over the United States – he loved his family, and knew every family member in every state.
Derrick loved pro wrestling, and he watched pro wrestling every Friday it came on. He was a TV buff. He also made sure his mother had a souvenir from every state he traveled to – he love bringing her hot sauce. He loved his mother dearly, and was a family man. He always reminded us that he was the oldest.
