Dennis V. Zappone

Dennis V. Zappone, 73, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born June 22, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Dennis and Eulah (Henry) Zappone.
Dennis was full of kindness with a servants heart who dedicated his life to caring for his wife, Joan, who was a quadriplegic. He enjoyed attending church and the fellowship that came along with that. Dennis was always smiling and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed listening to old music, watching westerns and was a collector of many things.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Wilbur Streib; sister-in-law, Sonia Gerhart; special nieces, Amy (Bryan) Forrest and Anna (Nigel) Cottone; nephew and nieces, Ray Poth, Debbie (James) Crider, Cathy Robson, Linda (James) Lehnhart, Carolyn (Vincent) Rost, David (Barb) Streib, Scott (Brenda) Gerhart and Brenda Gerhart; great nieces and nephews; and numerous friends at the Good Shepherd Villa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Rinehart) Zappone; his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Poth, Jean Streib and Gloria Rinehart; his brothers-in-law, Ernest Poth Jr., James Rinehart, and Howard Gerhart; and his nephews, Jerry Robson, Dean Gerhart, and Todd Gerhart.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, conducted by Pastor John Bouquet. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
