Dennis M. Frutig, age 69, of Dover, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover on January 20, 1952, Dennis was a son of the late Robert and Ruth Schaub Frutig.
Upon his graduation from Garaway High School in 1970, Dennis established C&W Trucking and Excavating and later owned and operated D.M. Frutig Trucking until his retirement. When not on the road, Dennis enjoyed working on Semi trucks, rescuing animals, and following Cleveland Indians Baseball. He also had a great passion for a good piece of cheese, especially Swiss Cheese, and enjoyed going to different cheese houses to sample their local products. A lifelong fan of Polka music, Dennis was also fond of Hot Rods, in his younger years as a driver and as he got older following the circuit as a spectator.
On September 9, 1989, he married the former Denise Resh who he leaves behind following 32 years of marriage. Also surviving are a son, Kyle (Regan) Simmons of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Lucas and Lillian Simmons; his siblings, Vicki (Terry) Brugger of Strasburg, Randy (Cindy) Frutig of Dundee; a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Clifford) Bronson of Strasburg as well as a niece, Angela Shetler, and two nephews, Brandon (Samantha) Barney and Brock Bronson.
The family will greet guests on Monday, January 17, 2022, in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover from 4:00 – 7:00 PM where a service celebrating his life will be led by Pastor Thomas Shank on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Dundee Cemetery.
