Debra L. Townsley

Debra L. Townsley, 53 of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on March 30, 1968 in Springfield to Donald and Helen (Clemens) Gresen. She married Donald Townsley on May 13, 1987 and he survives.

Also surviving are her eight children, Evan Gresen of Springfield, Casandra (John) Bedessie of Carbondale, Ryan Townsley of Springfield, Dakota Townsley of Springfield, Hailey Townsley (Brady Cheffy) of Springfield, Gabrielle (Esaei) Alesaei of Peoria, Raven Townsley of Springfield, and Samantha Jackson of Springfield; nineteen grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Cynthia Ellenburg of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Susan Engelkin.

Debra is a lifelong resident of Springfield and graduate of Springfield High School. She worked in the Springfield areas as a CNA for fifteen years.

She loved her cats and especially spending time with her family.

Visitation: 11 am – 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 1 pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Alan Carey officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Forever Home Feline Ranch.
