David Reisser Mochal, 63, of Hiawatha, died Tuesday June 6, 2023. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday June 9, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday June 10, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
Survivors include his children, Adam (Michelle) Mochal of Humble, Texas, Jason Mochal of Cedar Rapids and Megan (Mike) Green of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Elsiemae Mochal; his siblings, Cathi (Stu) Lake, Becky (Don) Cooley, Jim (Connie) Mochal, Deb (Don) Boothe, Liz (Bob) Smith, Tom (Pam) Mochal, Karen Mochal, Dennis (Barb) Mochal, Sharon Mochal, Tracee (Matt) Leeka, Rod (Julie) Mochal, Amy (Carlos) Vega, Shelly (Troy) Bartle and Jeff (Erika) Mochal; his grandchildren, Landon, Addison, Bryson, Hayden, Ella, Jade, Logan and Lexi; as well as hundreds of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Mochal; and siblings, Robert Mochal and Bill Mochal.
David was born on March 31, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Wayne and ElsieMae (Deklotz) Mochal. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Regis High School in 1978 and began work at Mid Continent Bottlers – 7up. He took on other tasks after that and, most recently, for Quaker Oats. He was a very devoted father and grandfather to his kids and grandkids who adored him, and where he consistently spent all his free time. He loved sports, especially the Dolphins, Cubs and Hawkeyes.
