David Leon Dill

David Leon Dill of Hendersonville, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on May 28th, 2021.
He is survived by his five adoring children, David Terry Dill (Mary), Donald Kerry Dill, Daniel Gregory Dill (Valoree), Deborah Dill Eubanks (James), and Scott Duane Dill (Pam); his grandchildren, Gregory Daniel Dill, Kristi Lee Allen, Michelle Valoree Tully, Jessie Eubanks McReynolds, Ashley Amber Dill, Noah Scott Dill, and Heath Christian Dill; and his great-grandchildren Jeremiah, Destiny, Kaya, Tyler, and Ashur; step-grandchildren John and Candace. “Uncle Leon” is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving, precious wife of 57 years, Sallie McCall Dill; his parents, Ezra and Mary Dill; his siblings, Ezra, Marjorie, John “Chubby”, Dewey, James “Jimmy”, Barbara Ann, and Linda; along with many other loved ones to make for a glorious reunion.
David was born on August 19th, 1932 in Hendersonville. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Hendersonville. He was an army and air force veteran and served his country as a code cracker in the Korean War. After service, he married the love of his life on October 13th, 1958. He took great pride in his large family. As a longstanding resident of Hendersonville, his home was always a gathering place for many family and friends throughout the years. He will be remembered as the patriarch of the family, an adoring father and grandfather, a friend and confidant, and steward of his family’s faith.
A celebration of his life will be held on May 31st, 2021 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at the First Church of the Nazarene in Hendersonville. The service will be officiated by Rev. Scott Crandle and Rev. James Parker. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital.
