David L. Williams walked into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 19th, 2024. Born on August 10, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, IA to the late Joe and Cleo Williams, he grew up in Tacoma, WA. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963 where he earned twelve high school varsity letters and attended the University of Washington where he earned six varsity letters.
Dave was a professional football player for ten seasons and the first player signed by the Seattle Seahawks. During his pro career, he caught 183 passes for 2,768 yards and 25 touchdowns in the NFL. He was named to the University of Washington’s Husky Hall of Fame 2014 class. After leaving professional football, Dave’s career in property management spanned more than 40 years. Dave was an accomplished athlete, leader, and a man who walked firmly in his Christian faith.
Dave is predeceased by his daughter Tracie, his parents Joe and Cleo, brothers Jerry and Joe, and brothers-in-law Ron and Tommy. Dave leaves behind his beloved spouse Sherry of 49 years, his son Jeff (Michelle), his daughter Kelly (Brian), son Steve, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many relatives and friends.
Donations may be made in his name to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project. Funeral services will be determined.
