David Henry Krahling, known to most as Dave or Bubba, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with vascular dementia. He was 83 years old.

Dave was born on December 31, 1941 — arriving just 15 minutes before his twin sister, Linda, who was a surprise to his parents. He lived his entire life in the Cedar Rapids, IA area, a community he loved.

Dave is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; his dear twin sister, Linda of North Liberty, IA; daughters,

Deb (Chris) Schneider of Prairie Village, KS, and Kelly (Kurt) Ziegelbein of La Crosse, WI; grandchildren, Scott Buchheit (Danielle) of Cedar Rapids, Zach (Kiersten) Schneider of Waukee, IA, Sam (Alex) Schneider of Kansas City, MO, Ben Ziegelbein of Minneapolis, MN, Jake Ziegelbein of Minneapolis, MN, Will (Sophia) Schneider of Prairie Village, KS, and Abby Ziegelbein of Madison, WI; great grandson, Henry, of Waukee, IA, and honorary grandson and neighbor, Ridesh Basnet.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Thelma and his older sister Jan.
