- March 16, 2022
David C. Wildgrube, age 73, of Chicago lost his battle with metastatic melanoma cancer and passed away Saturday, March 12th. Beloved companion of Julita Stinebaugh. Loving brother of Don and Rich Wildgrube. Uncle to seven and great uncle to several. Beloved friend of many. A Celebration of Life to be planned. Dave was one of a kind–with a zest for life, fun and humor, compassionate, great smile, with a love for animals, nature and conservation.
Dave was born in St Charles, Missouri on July 28, 1948 and grew up in Bridgeton. He graduated from Lutheran High School North in St Louis in 1966, and attended University of Missouri/St Louis. He was a drummer in a local band, and had many fond memories of those times. He also often relayed entertaining Chicago Friars Ski Club stories.
He began his IT career at Missouri Institute of Psychiatry as a programmer, and continued IT work at Columbia Records, Fortex, and MIMICS. During his career he lived in Terre Haute IN, Chicago IL, Detroit MI, New Jersey, Houston TX, Angel Fire NM, St Ann MO, and then returned to Chicago.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation directly to the charity of your choice. Dave would have appreciated donations to the American Cancer Society https://donate3.cancer.org/ , Chicago Canine Rescue https://chicagocaninerescue.org/donations/donation/ or Red Cross-Ukraine Relief Fund https://donate.redcrossredcrescent.org/ua/donate/~my-donation?_cv=1 You are unable to make the donation in honor of Dave for the Red Cross, but it is important to protect democracy and #standwithukraine.
