Darrell Louis Hora, 85, of Marion, Iowa, formally of Manchester, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Winslow House Care Center in Marion. He was born on March 9, 1939, in Morley, the son of Josie Ivan and Mary Alice (Tenley) Hora. Darrell was raised and educated in the Morley area and was a graduate of Morley High School.
Darrell worked for many years in sales for various companies. He enjoyed remodeling houses and every home he purchased was a project. Darrell liked to enlist any visiting family members into helping with whatever he was working on at the time. He liked to spend his spare time reading and often sent his favorite articles, recipes and jokes to whoever he felt would enjoy it. Darrell was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeye Women’s Basketball team. He had season tickets and attended many games. He loved talking to and visiting people, especially his family.
Survivors include his five children, Beth (Keith) McKeehan of Cedar Rapids, Joel Hora of Cedar Rapids, Mindy (Glen) Galloway of Manchester, Allison (Rick) Thomas of McGregor, and Adam (Kristen) Hora of Peyton, Colorado; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Diane (Roger) Onken of Monticello and sister-in-law Betty Hora of Anamosa.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; his grandsons, Ian Galloway and Elijah Manuel; brother, Robert Hora; and his nephew; Ryan Onken.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa, with Pastor Mike Jackson.
Visitation: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa.
Private Family Inurnment: Cass Township Cemetery-Strawberry Point, Iowa.
