Darrel Lester Wilson, 68, of Mansfield, passed away at his home due to complication of COPD and emphysema on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Darrel was born on October 30, 1953 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late George and Gladys (Damron) Wilson. He spent most of his life working in the manufacturing field at Westinghouse, Mansfield Aircraft, Crane Plumbing and Newman Tech. Darrel loved spending time with his grandson, Joey. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, collecting diecast models, and watching classic television shows.
He is survived by his son, Justin (Lee) Wilson; his grandchildren, Hannah McQueen, Ethan Jones, and Joseph Wilson; his siblings, Bonnie (Jerry) Whitehead, Lavina Messimer, Rita Culp, Brenda Chance, and Ricky Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Wilson, Roy Wilson, George Wilson, Brian Wilson and Danny Wilson; and his brothers-in-law, Russel Messimer and Lon Culp.
There will be no public services observed. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Wilson family.
