Daniel Santiago, age 60, of Chicago, passed away April 24th,. Daniel was born on August 3, 1960 to Haniel and Esther Santiago (nee Roche). He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1983 after serving four years. Daniel was a talented artist, working with all techniques from textiles to canvas and paint. He loved to garden and his gift with flower arrangements were in high demand for many an event from Bar mitzvahs to weddings. Daniel was the beloved partner in life for over 31 years of Michael Goddard; loving third child out of eight children to Haniel and Esther Santiago; loving son-in-law to Nancy and Edward Goddard; loving brother to Lazaro (Margie) Santiago, Eddie Santiago, Tomas (Rosie) Santiago, Carmen (Byron) Gibbs, Sonia Santiago, Esther Santiago, and Haniel Santiago; fond brother-in-law to Laurie (Casey) Koniarski and Jeffrey (Michelle) Goddard; loving nephew to Mario (Patsy) Medina, and Reynaldo (Norma) Santiago; fond Uncle to 24 nieces and nephews, 28 great nieces and nephews, and over 40 first and second cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Primitivo and Irene Santiago, Tomas Roche and Ramona Sanchez, his father, Haniel, his father-in-law, Edward, his sister-in-law Margie, Brother Eddie, his uncles Nelson, Miguel and Tomas, his aunt Minerva and his great nephew, Daniel. Dan was loved, honored, and respected by all.
A Visitation will be held, 3:00-7:00pm Sunday, May 2nd at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave, Chicago. Service will be held at 10 am Monday May 3rd at the funeral home. Interment private. For more information please call 773-736-3833 or visit Daniel’s memorial at www.smithcorcoran.com
