Dana Lynn Walker Grace
- March 25, 2021
Dana Lynn Walker Grace was born in Lubbock, Texas on March 30, 1956 to Rufus Roy Walker and Ermine Tidwell Walker. She was the first of four children. Due to her father’s job, the family moved every three to four years while she was growing up. When she was about twelve years old, the family moved north to (ironically) Dana, Indiana for four years before transferring to Hanover Park, Illinois for one year. The family then moved back to Texas. Dana finished her high school years at Haltom High School where she was reunited with friends from grade school. She attended Tarleton University for a time. Getting her Histotechnology Certification she worked at Cleburne Hospital for a number of years. Recently, she has been working as a security guard for Securitas where she received an award for Officer of the Month.
On July 16, 2010 Dana married Steve Grace at the Handley United Methodist Church. She was raised in the United Methodist Church and active in it throughout her life. While living in Indiana, Dana took part in the Spokesmen, a Christian Bicycle Club that toured the area during the summer and gave testimonies.
An avid sports enthusiast, she was a Cowboys and Rangers fan and worked at Arlington Stadium for a time as well as Six Flags Over Texas. Dana was fiercely protective of her friends and loved children.
Dana is survived by her husband, Steve Grace, her brothers Darren and his wife, Charlotte, Damon, and Daryl and his wife, Dawn, five nieces and nephews, and aunts, uncles, and cousins beyond counting. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Elizabeth, and her parents, Roy and Ermine Walker.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Colleyville United Methodist Church on March 30th at 2 p.m.
