Cynthanee Jade Heeren was born on January 7, 1995 to Larry & Julie Heeren. Sixteen months later, she became the big sister and number one fan of her brother Chaz. The two Heeren kids had a special bond that grew stronger when he married Bianca and they made Cynthanee an aunt to Everett and Colson. Next to being an aunt Cynthanee loved her soulmate Dalton, her horse Rocky, and their three dogs Milo, Kash and Bailey. Cynthanee graduated from Anamosa High School in 2013 and marched off to college. Drake held her interest for a semester before she transferred to the University of Iowa where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Physiology. She enjoyed employment at Unity Point Health and management at Aspen Dental before continuing her education at Kirkwood to become a registered Dental Hygienist in 2022.

Cynthanee loved her dental hygiene position at Anamosa Dental and made time to volunteer at a local nonprofit Balaam’s Donkey as Chief Operations Officer. Balaam’s Donkey embodies all that Cynthanee loved; animals spreading joy to people in residential facilities and university students being trained to provide oral screenings and stannous applications to people with self-care deficits. Cynthanee and her team were on a mission to create a nation-wide healthcare initiative. Cynthanee forged confidently through life spreading joy in her wake. Everything she touched was changed to the better and all who entered her journey found themselves further than they knew they could go.

People were Cynthanee’s passion and purpose. She was blind to age, color, gender, ability or socioeconomic status, everyone Cynthanee met was a friend in the making. While not working, Cynthanee loved attending concerts with her BFF Amber Koch and other close friends, or riding her horse or enjoying the countryside with her soulmate Dalton in their ATV.

Not yet 30 years old, Cynthanee and the love of her life Dalton Starn had big plans for their future. Together, they had purchased land, built their dream home, which included a shed and fenced yard for her horse Rocky, and planned to wed and have children. It was obvious how much Dalton and Cynthanee loved each other, the outdoors and the people in their life. This beautiful love for people, was the force that pushed them into haste on Saturday, September 21, 2024 when Jesus called Cynthanee home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday morning, September 26, 2024, at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church rural Monticello. Where visitation will be held from 4 until 8 Wednesday evening.
