Craig DeWayne Fenton, 82, of Fort Madison, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, at the Iowa City VA Health Care System of a short illness.

He was born in Sedan, Iowa, to Russell and Francis Fenton on May 7, 1941. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on July 4, 1958, and served his country faithfully. Craig married Josefina Dela Pena on Aug. 27, 2004, in Fort Madison.

Craig leaves behind his wife, Josefina; son, Buddy Fenton; daughters, Carrie Fenton-Kimm and Aileen Fenton-Frazier, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Mitchell Fenton of Pueblo, Colo.; daughters, Jodi Fenton Burkart Young and Tara Fenton, both of Amherst, Texas; along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Fenton Tischer; brother, Michael Dean Fenton; and uncle, Richard Fenton.
