Cody Watts
- February 28, 2021
Cody Nan Watts of Granbury died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 23, 2021. She was born in Glen Rose, TX to A.J. and Elizabeth Hammond on April 20, 1945. She graduated from Glen Rose High School in 1963.
On December 4, 1965, Cody married the love of her life Charles “Chuck” Watts. They lived in and raised their twodaughters in the Fort Worth area before moving to Granbury in 2001.
Following high school graduation she started at Southwestern Bell as a switchboard operator and had worked her way up to first line supervisor when she retired in 1995. She then turned her passion for decorating and artistic talent into a second career.
She loved family time, her annual trips to northern California, and the Texas Rangers. With a big heart and big personality, Cody loved doing for others and never met an animal she didn’t want to rescue and could make a stranger feel like an old friend.
Her biggest loves were her three grandchildren and great grandson. She was anxiously anticipating the arrival of her great granddaughter this spring.
Cody is survived by her husband of 55 years Charles Watts; daughters Amy Watts and Jennifer Dahl; grandchildren Reagan Farner (Aaron), Trey Maynard and Emma Dahl; great grandson Wyatt Brooks Farner; sister Teresa Crisp (Weldon); brother Tom Hammond (Linda); aunt Ruth Stafford, sister-in-law Linda Rouse (John Fleck) and a number of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Hwy 377 East. Granbury, TX. Memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.
