Clarissa “Kay” Marada

Clarissa “Kay” Marada, 69, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at her home. She was born on October 11, 1952, in Springfield, the daughter of Virgil and Mildred (DeCroix) Burge. She married Mark F. Marada on August 23, 1980 and he survives.
Also surviving are daughter, Sabrina (Chris) Ealey of Riverton; two grandchildren, Chayse Ealey and Alexandria “Lexie” Smith; two sisters, Donna Burge of Springfield and Lynda (Carrol) Moss of Tallula; brother, Ronnie (MaryAnn) Burge of Spaulding; fur babies, Elvis and Jazzy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Stephen Marada; two brothers, Gary “Buck” and Virgil Dean Burge; and fur baby, Chloe.
Kay was a resident of Springfield all her life. She worked for Memorial Medical Center as a unit secretary, retiring after 37 years of service. She was a member of Real Life Church. She enjoyed sewing as a pastime. One of her favorite activities was fishing and boating, especially at Mark Twain Lake in Missouri. She loved to bake sugar cookies with her family around Christmas time. Kay cherished every moment she had with her family and loved them very much.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Lie-in-state: 10 – 11 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Real Life Church.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Real Life Church, with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
