Christopher L. Kroening
- June 25, 2023
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Chris L. Kroening age 51 of
Walworth, WI announce his passing on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Agrace Hospice in
Janesville. Chris was diagnosed in April of this year with Spindle Cell Sarcoma, a rare and
aggressive form of cancer that metastasized to his lungs.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran
Church, 420 Read St, Walworth from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. A
luncheon will be provided following the Funeral Service. On July 5th at 2:00 PM, a small
ceremony at Cobblestone Cemetery in Walworth will be open to family and close friends who
want to attend.
Christopher L. Kroening was born October 7, 1971 in Sheboygan, WI to John W. and Levonne
(Herman) Kroening. Chris is survived by his wife and best friend of 27 years, Jamie Nichol
(Holden) Kroening, whom he married on November 10, 2001 in Whitewater, his amazing,
beautiful children–their 15-year old twin girls: Karlie and Kelsie, along with their 7-year old son,
Connor, his mother Levonne Oreskovich of Beloit, WI as well as his brother John (Natalie)
Kroening of Rhinelander, WI.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Kroening and step-father Robert Oreskovich.
Chris graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1990. He attended UW-Whitewater for one
year and realized college was not the path that he wanted to take. He had several jobs
throughout his life from Gas Station back in the day to working in the sporting goods department
at Kmart in Delavan and building in-ground pools. Then, he started out in the shop at Stock
Lumber and went to school to be a Truss Technician and continued to work at Stock Lumber of
Delavan until the business closed. Most recently Chris was working at Accurate Housing
System in East Troy as a Truss Technician and had worked there since August of 2009. Chris
was definitely a dedicated worker at whatever job he had.
Chris was one of a kind. He was that quiet guy at the back of the room that never wanted to be
the center of attention. Chris loved his Packers, Brewers–he proposed to wife at a Brewer
game, Badgers, and, of course, the Milwaukee Bucks. Any Wisconsin sports team he certainly
was a fan of. He loved watching sports. One of his favorite things was to watch his girls play
volleyball, basketball, and especially softball. He was excited that his son Connor was starting
baseball this summer. His wife and children were his life; they were his pride and joy to the very
end.
Chris has always been a dedicated friend, employee, husband and most of all the greatest dad.
He will be truly missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
Memorial contributions may be given to Agrace Hospice, 2901 N. Wright Road
Janesville, WI 53546.
