Christopher “Chris” W. Jackson, 45 of Springfield, died at 3:45 am, December 18, 2021. He was born February 6, 1976 in Springfield, to Randy Jackson and Jeanette (Floyd) Jackson. He married Julie Marie Carter on October 20, 2001 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Kayleigh Jean Jackson (boyfriend, Jacob Tomao) of Punta Gorda, FL; father, Randy (Nancy) Jackson of Springfield; mother, Jeanette (Kim “Mickey”) Plaster of Sherman; one sister, Jennifer (Mark) Norman of Springfield; one step-sister, Julie Martin (Jeff Weinrich) of Murphysboro; three step-brothers, Aaron (Rachel) Martin of Springfield, Jason (Kari) Plaster and Aaron Plaster both of St. Louis, MO; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and his four legged best friends, Bella, Lola, Leia, and Brodie.
Chris worked for Comcast since November 3, 1997 as a Network Maintenance Communication Technician.
He was a member of The Central Illinois RC Crawlers and volunteered at the Comcast Care Days. He enjoyed going RC Crawling on Sundays, taking Florida vacations annually since he was five years old, and he especially loved walking the beach for hours and was an expert on finding shells, sharks’ teeth and starfish. When in Florida he enjoyed visiting Universal Studios and Island of Adventures. Chris was a Star Wars fanatic and loved Disney (because his wife made him).
He loved going fishing, four wheeling, doing archery with his daughter Kayleigh. He also loved cooking, grilling, and using his smoker.
Chris was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He was always there for everyone to lend a helping hand. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.
Visitation: 3 – 6 pm, Monday, December 27, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 6 pm, Monday, December 27, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield with Pastor Don Goodenow officiating.
