Charity Rose (Philipp) Schneekloth, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at her home after a courageous one year battle with cancer. Visitation: 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with Rosary to begin at 3:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service, all at the funeral home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. John’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Charity was born Sept. 30, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Fred and Emily (Tomas) Philipp. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in North Omaha, Neb., in 1964. Charity was united in marriage to Terry Ray Schneekloth on June 1, 1968, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She worked at Park Lane Root Beer Stand, Collins Radio, Square D, and retired from Wilson Foods/Farmstead in 1990. Charity then became a religious educator and the housekeeper for the priests of St. Ludmila. She was a member of several circles at St. Ludmila and a lifelong, devoted member of the St. Ludmila Parish.

She enjoyed cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and loved to do puzzles in the morning. She liked scratch off lotto tickets and was always hoping for a winner. Charity enjoyed baking kolaches for the St. Ludmila Kolache Festival. She loved fall and enjoyed making blankets for friends and family. Charity was a collector of many things, such as cardinal figurines and Precious Moments. Above all, she loved being with her family and was an especially devoted grandmother and godmother.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Ray Schneekloth; son, Terry (Julie) Schneekloth, all of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Raelynn Maloney (Thomas Sandgaard) of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Lucy Schneekloth of Cedar Rapids, Olivia Maloney of New York City and Tessa Maloney of Denver; siblings, Faith (Steve) Seehawer, Teresa Byrne, Fred (Jennifer) Philipp, Hope Hugh, Mary (Bill) Brecht, Pat (John) Roberts, Ed (Cheri) Philipp, Anne Ranard, Dave (Teresa) Philipp, Tina (Tom) Anderson and Paul (Diana) Philipp; sister-in-law, Jeanne Philipp; and best friends, Tom and Lisa Meyers.

Charity was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emily Philipp; stepmother, Helen Philipp; and siblings, Phil and Daniel Philipp and Patience Jellen.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of Charity’s friends at St. Ludmila’s as well as the staff at Mercy Hospice Care and Hall Perrine Cancer Center, and especially, Dr. Ann Stroh.
