As a minister’s wife, Katie walked hand in hand with her husband serving the church in many different capacities over his thirty years of service. She had a true servant’s heart and was an inspiration to others.
A talented baker, Katie’s family loved her homemade pies and cakes. Everyone greatly enjoyed family dinners at the Altman home whether Sunday dinner or a holiday feast all were special and was always prepared with much love. She was nicknamed “The Bead Lady” for her unique beaded Christmas trees, snowmen, and Uncle Sam designs.
