Casey Harris passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Silver Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Marion, Iowa. He enjoyed his stay there despite pulling some stunts to keep them on their toes.

Born on August 3, 1959, he was the youngest son of Charles and Elizabeth (Betty) Lesan Harris.

Casey was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Melvin Carron and his brother Robert.

Casey was in a loving relationship of 34 years with Nancy Tapken of Cedar Rapids and they enjoyed many road trips and camping adventures over the years.

Casey enjoyed cooking, gardening and attending local farmers markets and in his earlier years enjoyed fishing with Rob and Melvin.

In more recent years, he was a food service delivery driver and loved to brag about knowing where everything was located in the CR/Marion area.

Survivors include Nancy, one brother, Richard of Marion and two sisters, Alice Mulholland of Bertram and Carol along with several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 18th from 2-4pm at the Marion American Legion.
