Carroll Ann Kempton, age 85, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Sarasota, Florida, surrounded by her loving family members.
She was born February 10, 1936, Columbus, Ohio, the only daughter of the late Lola (Ruggles) and Calvin Clark Sr. Carroll was a fun loving, giving mom, grandma, aunt and friend. She was loved by all. She earned her nickname “Rose” from the character in the Golden Girls (LOL). She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards-especially 500 Rummy-occasionally changing the rules in her favor. Carroll enjoyed shopping at Dollar Stores with her special friends, Mary Ann, Ron, Montez and Marilyn.
Carroll is survived by two loving sons, Jeffrey Kempton of Marietta, Ohio, and Kevin Kempton of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Jason Kempton of FL, Dawniel (Nathan) King of TN, Nikki Fox of OH, Jenniel (Bill) Cutlip of OH, Travis (Sara) Kempton of MI, Jeremy Kempton of OH, Trey Kempton of CA, and Trevor Kempton of IN; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ethan, Alex, Gabriel, Ezekiel, Ava and Nora; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death on February 5, 2020, by her husband of 67 years, Norman Kempton, whom she married on June 7, 1952; son, Craig “Chico” Kempton; parents; and four brothers, Tom, Dale Sr., Butch and Jerry Clark.
A celebration of Carroll’s life with friends and family will be held from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 S. Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband and son.
