Carolyn Sue Rogers Peterson

Carolyn Sue Rogers Peterson passed into the arms of Jesus on May 4, 2022 with family members and her Lakeside Baptist Church Agape class leaders praying and singing “I’ll fly Away”. Carolyn was born May 18, 1941. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a good friend to many.

Carolyn loved to cook, bake cakes, helping with Lakeside meals and fellowship events. She enjoyed working with her plants and patio, all the time spent in Pagosa Springs Colorado, golfing at Pecan and Nutcracker, traveling throughout the backroads of 46 states in America, many cruises, attending Granbury Live, Branson, Vegas and shows everywhere. Her last trip covered 12 states last October and included the Ark in Kentucky. She really enjoyed participating with her daughter and grandchildren in dancing, soccer or band events. She was runner up to the Texas State Champion in black powder shooting and participated in this sport with her son and daughter. Her many friends enjoyed her kind and gentle way and the love she had for each of them. Carolyn really appreciated her Sunday night bible study in the homes of the agape class members for many years and sometimes she found a little time for her art work and paintings. Carolyn’s last occupation was church secretary for Oakhurst Presbyterian in Fort Worth. This was her families original home church. She worked there for most of the 1990’s and played in the bell choir. This was located in the Riverside area of Ft. Worth where she lived as a child and attended Carter Riverside High School.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 22 years, Verne Peterson, daughter Terri Good and husband Mike, son Tracy Stewart and wife Renee, granddaughters Kelsey Stewart, Robbyn Daugherty and husband Brett, Morgan Good, grandson James Good and wife Tiffany and great grandchildren Benjamin Stewart, Kyla Marie Stewart and Sloane Good. She is also survived by her extended family Nancy Doyle and husband Ed, April Hardy and husband Matt, Baylee Santana and husband Albert and greats Paxton and Lily Kathyleen Santana.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father William Rogers, mother Jane Rogers Oakley and grandson Kyle Stewart.

A Memorial Service is Scheduled to celebrate her life on Saturday May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am. Location will be Lakeside Baptist Church, 500 W. Bluebonnet, Granbury, Texas 76048.
